2005 Junior Fish-In at Hooked in France

Our annual Junior fishing competition was held in August this year. Dads brought their talented kids to fish our lake over the course of a week.

Conditions were tough this time round as the region experienced the worst drought in 60 years. Water levels were low and the weed levels high and a good number of fish were lost.

The eventual winner was Mitchell Smiles who caught 4 carp for a total of 106lbs, the biggest being a 30lb 12oz Mirror. Mitchell and Dad Darren told us, "What an excellent place. Lee, Tiffany and their staff did everything to make us comfortable and ensure we had what we needed for a really good weeks fishing. We would certainly recommend it and would happily come back."

Second place went to Lee with 4 fish, third to Jonathan with 3 fish and 4th Peter with 2 fish. A fantastic week in which all the juniors went away with the experience of fishing in France and for some, how to tie rigs and knots.
